Table Hockey School (Flash req'd).: Attack strategies, Defense, History, Rules, Preparation. A fun-loving look at table hockey with delightful animations of basic and expert moves. Makes me want to go out and get a set!

Notes: 1. The Start page is crap on NS 7+, fine on IE 2. Link is via a post on Boing Boing regarding Table Hockey (The Movie)

(that third link is amiss) Table Hockey (The Movie) plus more on the film and and a little more on the film. I love table hockey, especially the coin op ones with the big bubbles on top and the sound effects with the BOO button.

I would love to own a full-sized bubble hockey game.

I just remembered something... About 10-12 years ago, on the local cable channel (in Scarborough), someone broadcasted a table hockey playoff series (7 games). It was two guys just playing table hockey (with two NHL teams: Toronto and Montreal), a third guy acting as camera man and two others as "commentators" (they may have been live or dubbed in afterwards). It was a full-blown deal: instant replays (with light-pen lines and comments), on-screen graphics (score, time left), interviews with the players (human, not the stick-men) and between-period analysis. These guys were having the time of their lives, and for the next two hours I was absolutely hooked. It ended when the Toronto Maple Leafs scored in overtime of game 7. Highlights: - when a Hab player flew off his spike and crashed into the boards, they carted him off on a mini-stretcher and replaced him with another player (I can't figure if they did it deliberately, or simply stopped the tape and came up with that gag on the fly). - after the Leaf goalie let in two long shots early in one of the games, the player pulled him off his spike and replaced him with another goalie (same goalie, but with a small piece of tape and another number written on it) - when the Leafs won the cup, they put a tiny tinfoil Stanley Cup on a harness and draped it over the winger's body and he "skated" up and down his grove with it (while "We Are the Champions" played in the background)...then they transfered it to another player on the team and he "skated" back and forth Unfortunately, my VCR was broken at the time and I couldn't get it on tape. To this day, I have never found anyone else that watched it as well...
